This is the Foxface quilt, my newest pattern. It's featured in the Island Batik catalog. This pattern is available in my Etsy shop and in select quilt shops across the USA. I used Island Batik's new Honeycomb fabric collection to make this quilt. Island Batik provided the fabric for this project.
The Foxface blocks are pieced and soooo adorable! If you are following me on social media, you've probably seen snippets of the Foxface quilt all week.
Four Foxface blocks together make this fun unit. The Foxfaces are sewn in three different color combinations.
The Foxface quilt finishes at 43" x 55".
I quilted Foxface in an allover loopy meander.
You can see the hot pink backing fabric, and the binding in this photo.

So, you've been thinking about trying Quilty Box, but aren't quite ready for the big box. Did you know they also offer a Quilty Box Mini? This is a smaller size monthly subscription. Here's what is in November's Quilty Box mini:
A 5" charm pack of the Me and You fabric collecion. Also included is the same booklet about this month's featured designer, Latifah Saafir. The booklet has an interview, a pattern, and a few other monthly features. It's like a mini quilt magazine, filled with inspiration and ideas. You can see a quilt pattern tucked behind the charm pack, too.
And a lovely green spool of Aurifil thread. This would be perfect to finish up those last minute Christmas gifts. Let's get sewing!
Today I'm showing the Pioneer Rose quilt. This heirloom style quilt features the beautiful Pioneer Rose applique block, set on point, and paired with the unique Curved Chain Block.
Quilt Stats:
Quilt Size: 61" x 61"
Block Size: 12" x 12"
Fabric: Liberty Gathering, by Primitive Gatherings, for Moda
Batting: Warm 100, by the Warm Company
Thread: King Tut, by Superior
The Curved Crossing block in navy blues, white, and beige gives this quilt a strong visual impact. The curves add a little spice to an otherwise ordinary block.
The Pioneer Rose applique block is also a crossing design.
I used the fusible applique method for my blocks, but these could be sewn using any applique method you desire. This photo shows the block before zigzagging around the patches.
I used matching thread, except for the beige leaves. I used the navy thread on the beige leaves to help them stand out against the light background.
I echo quilted around the applique patches and did a simple loopy meander over the balance of the quilt to finish it off.
The Pioneer Rose quilt is a cover girl! It is currently gracing the cover of the September/October 2017 issue of Love of Quilting magazine, available at your local quilt shop now. If you sew a Pioneer Rose quilt, please share a photo. I would love to see it!

Quilt Stats:
Quilt Size: 78-3/8" x 101"
Block Size: 16" x 16'
Fabric: Spectrum by V & Co. for Moda
Batting: Warm 100 by the Warm Company
Thread: King Tut by Superior
This is Block A. It has a fun 3D look to it, due to the color value placement of the fabrics.
The Spectrum fabric collection lends a playful, geometric look to this design.
Block B really showcases the turquoise blue triangle fabric. It looks almost like a cut gemstone, set in the center of the block.
Block C is just a different color version of Block B. The cutting and piecing is all the same, it's just a little bit toned down to complement the other two blocks in the quilt.
The blocks are set on point, and finished with side and corner triangles that match Block C's coloring. A simple double border of pink and gray completes the look of the Quadrille quilt.

Here's my latest published pattern, "Sugar Crush". This quilt just came back home to me yesterday. I wasn't expecting it yet, so it was a lovely surprise. It's one of my favorite quilts that I've designed and sewn. So pretty, and pink, and romantic - Aaaaaaah, yes.
The Sugar Crush quilt and pattern appears in the new Spring 2016 issue of Quilter's World, along with seventeen other wonderful (I want to make them all) projects!
This quilt is just too white to get everyday use in my home. I have three boys, three cats, and one crazy husband. I've hung it up in my quilting studio for inspiration and enjoyment. I love how you can change the whole mood of a room by simply hanging a quilt.
