Introducing the Basket Cat Quilt Block Pattern Collection!

That's right ~ now all twelve Basket Cat block patterns are available in one complete set.  The cost of the set is only $30.00. That's a $6.00 savings over purchasing all twelve blocks individually.
All patterns produce 12" finished size blocks, a classic size that fits within many different quilt layouts.  These block patterns include a full color photo of each block, a materials list, complete instructions for paper piecing, and the paper pieced pattern sheets.

An original pattern by Jennifer Thomas.

Twelve Trees, Six Houses, and One Kitten

My six tree blocks are complete.  That's a total of twelve trees, a mini forest.

Next, the house blocks.  I started with simple shapes, a rectangle for the window, and a few squares.

Super easy piecing - just sew the squares to windows.

Here squares have been sewn to both sides of the windows, with an additional strip of matching fabric under the window.

The strip over the top of the window is a little thicker than the bottom strip.
The strips on the left are going to be the doors.

Homes under construction!  An assortment of doors, windows, and walls.

The bottom sections of all six houses are complete.

My little helper, Trail Mix is keeping my project box organized.  Thank you!

The roof sections of the houses are paper pieced to accommodate the angles.

Trimming...

And the roofs are on.

At this point, Trail Mix discovered the ironing board is a toasty warm spot.  Awwww!  Isn't she cute?

A few simple strips and squares and the chimneys are on.

A little blue sky and ~ Voila!  Six new homes, ready to move in.

Next up:  The Lighthouse block.

Have a super day!

Sewing Skinny Pine Trees

Slowly...oh so slowly I've been sewing.  Stealing a little time here and there.  I've sewn a few of these skinny pine trees for the Home by the Sea pattern.

The tree blocks are all paper pieced.  They look so funny before trimming.

When trimming my fabric, I like to use a ruler that is close in size to the project.  This helps me to control the cut.

I'm using this cute green polka dot fabric for the large pine trees.

I like the way this fabric looks on the finished tree, like it's snowing.  This would be a cute idea for a Christmas quilt....Hmmmmm....there's another idea.

Happy sewing!

Home by a Tree

I made a tree!  I found a teeny tiny bit of time to sew, and made one tree, part of a block for the Home by the Sea quilt & pattern I'm currently working on.  Summer has been so busy, busy.  Not much time for sewing, but I did sew this one, solitary, tree.

Hope you are having a fun Summer!

Liberty Coins Cat Quilt Block Pattern

It's finally here.  The twelfth and final installment in the Basket Cat quilt block series - Liberty Coins Cat.

The Liberty Coins Cat Quilt Block is a foundation piecing pattern.  Such a cute little kitty, peeking over the basket edge.  You could customize the cat by using the fabrics of your choice for the fur and eyes.  Sew a few to match your own furry family members!

I chose to make my Liberty Coins Cat a bit of a rebel.  I added a little kitty "mohawk" on top of his head.  It was fun to quilt all those little spikes.

Here's the quilt I made, featuring all twelve of the Basket Cat patterns.  These patterns are fun to collect, and a steal at only $3.00 each.  You could sew pillows, a table runner, a small wall hanging, or a full size quilt.  My family uses this quilt to cuddle on the couch by the fire in the evenings.  I made it wider than it is long, so we could have more "snuggle room".  See all of the Basket Cat patterns in my shop, at this link:  Quilt Block Patterns.  Mix, match, and make something adorable!
