Quadrille Quilt and Pattern ~ New!

This is the Quadrille quilt, my newest pattern!  It's featured in the Island Batik catalog.  This pattern is available in my Etsy shop and in select quilt shops across the USA.

Disclaimer:  The fabrics used to make this quilt were generously given to me by Island Batik.
I used the new Harvest Night fabric collection by Kathy Engle for Island Batik.  This fabric should be arriving in quilt shops now.  Just look at these lovely colors and designs.  There are a lot of pumpkins, ravens, and curly vines featured in this collection.  It's perfect to sew something cozy for the upcoming Fall season (like the new Quadrille quilt!)

The Quadrille quilt features two different block designs, this cool 3D looking block,

and this modern looking squares block. The squares block is made in two colorways for the quilt.

This quilt finishes at 78" x 101".  It's wonderful on my King size bed, but would also work on a Queen, or Double.

Pretty folds.

I quilted Quadrille in an allover loopy meander.  Do you see the cool spiderweb fabric I used for the outer border and binding?  Spooky!

Here's a pic of the spiderweb binding and the beautiful backing fabric I used for Quadrille.  If I remember correctly, the backing is Terra Cotta.

Daisy Pond Quilt and Pattern in Love of Quilting July/August 2022

My Daisy Pond quilt and pattern is featured in the new Love of Quilting July/August 2022....sort of.

See the "Plus Free Bonus Digital Pattern" on the cover?  That's Daisy Pond.  You can get it when you purchase the issue.  Here's a link to get your copy:  Love of Quilting July/August 2022, or look for it in local quilt shops now.  *Bonus:  My fellow Island Batik Ambassador Quilting Gail has a quilt in this issue, too!

Daisy Pond was a really fun medallion style quilt with this quick and easy to sew fusible applique ring of daisies floating on a pond for the center block.  The green border around the daisies represents the marshy green edge of the pond.

The checkerboard border and the triangle border represent rocks around the pond.

I used Island Batik's new Jewel Carvings fabric collection for this quilt.

Pretty folds!

I swirl quilted in a blue thread to simulate movement in the water.

Daisy Pond is backed in another lovely blue Island Batik fabric and bound with a dotty blue.

More pretty folds.  These colors make me feel happy and calm.

Storm at Sea Finish!

My Storm at Sea quilt is complete!  If you remember, this quilt was only a top when it was my day on the Island Batik Storm at Sea blog hop.  Click here to read my original post.

Disclaimer:  The products used to make this quilt were generously given to me by Island Batik and industry partners.
We had a terrific cloudy day to take photos, all day until I hung the quilt.  Then the sun came out and made tree shadows all over the side of my house and the quilt.  Oh well.  My son said it makes it more charming.  Now that I'm inside writing the post it's cloudy again.

This quilt features the Petal Pathway fabric collection by Kathy Engle for Island Batik.  This fabric should be available in local quilt shops now.  I love the way the colors glow against the solid black.

I quilted an allover swirl design with purple Aurifil thread, 40 wt., color #2545.

The batting is Hobbs Tuscany Collection Supreme 100% Unbleached Cotton.  I won this batting in Hobbs Creating for the Holidays Instagram contest.  Let me tell you, it is plush!  It is the most plush cotton batting I have ever tried!  Wow is it nice.

While I was taking photos, Trail Mix came over to see what was happening.  "Why is this quilt hanging on the side of the house?", she seemed to be asking.  "How can I cuddle it?".

I will be sleeping under this quilt tonight, for New Years.  I'll probably be sleeping long before midnight.  Happy New Year!  Welcome 2022!  Here's a few more pretty pictures:
