Be My Neighbor Quilt and Pattern

Hello!  Welcome to my neighborhood.  This is the Be My Neighbor quilt.  It's one of my newest patterns, available now in the Curlicue Creations Etsy shop and select quilt shops around the U.S.A.

This is one of the five quilts I made to support my signature fabric collection, Sunlit Garden.  This fabric is so bright and pretty!  I love the reds, blues, greens, and white and the pretty flower designs by Jerry Khiev.  It's an Island Batik (Lumin Fabrics) collection.

I've always loved house quilts and I've made a few of them over the years.  Isn't this blue house block lovely?  Do you see how it uses four different blue fabrics from the Sunlit Garden collection?

Here are some of the blocks up on my design wall as I was putting the quilt top together.  It was fun to design and stitch the red, green, blue, and rainbow house blocks.

Quilting the Be My Neighbor quilt was a joy as well.  It is fun for me to make quilts with different colors in the blocks.  I quilted a loopy meander in an allover design with a light green thread.

Sunlit Garden Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello!  Welcome to the first day of the Sunlit Garden Blog Hop.  Thanks for stopping by.  Sunlit Garden is my new signature fabric collection with Island Batik, designed by Jerry Khiev.

Disclaimer:  The fabric used to make these projects was given to me by Island Batik.
Sunlit Garden features gorgeous hues of red, green, and teal.  The designs include daisies, scattered wildflowers, speckles, and a couple more floral and foliage patterns.  There are 20 fabrics in this collection.  The Sunlit Garden fabric collection should be available in local quilt shops now.
I made five new quilts and patterns to support the Sunlit Garden fabric.  Here are my quilts:

Build a dreamy neighborhood.  Each row of houses features a different colorway from the Sunlit Garden collection, red, green, blue, and rainbow.  The houses are partially paper pieced.  This pattern can be made with 10" precuts or with yardage.  Pattern available in my Etsy shop.

The Cabin Crossing Quilt Pattern sews an 84" x 84" square finished size quilt, perfect for your bed, a housewarming gift, or a large, cuddly couch throw. This pattern is sewn using a rotary cutter and straight piecing methods. This pattern includes full color step by step diagrams.  Pattern available in my Etsy shop.

The Lynnbank Basket Quilt Pattern sews a 73" x 100" finished size quilt, perfect for a large bed.  This pattern is sewn using both fusible applique and straight piecing methods. This pattern includes full color step by step diagrams. Sew this stunning heirloom quality traditional basket variation quilt with applique floral vine border. The baskets are pieced with fusible appliqued handles. The floral vine border features a wavy, bias strip vine with oval flowers and alternating leaves. Pattern available in my Etsy shop.

This quilt features swirly fusible applique motifs.  When you set them together, they create a star in the center of the blocks.  This quilt can be made with 10" precuts, or yardage.  Mix and match the colors of the swirls for maximum enjoyment.  Pattern available in my Etsy shop.

The Miss Pickle Goes to Town Quilt Pattern sews a 54" x 54" square finished size quilt, perfect for wall decor, a housewarming gift, or a cuddly couch throw. This pattern is sewn using both paper piecing and curved piecing methods. This pattern is recommended for experienced quilters. This pattern includes full color step by step diagrams. Sew this stunning heirloom quality traditional pickle dish variation quilt. Curved triangle sections are paper pieced. Paper piecing experience is recommended.  This pattern is available in my Etsy shop.

My Twizzle Quilt is on the Cover of Quilter's World Magazine!

My Twizzle quilt is on the cover of the Spring 2025 issue of Quilter's World magazine!  I'm so excited to be a cover girl again.  Don't you love the gorgeous photo they took with the pink bicycle and basket of flowers?  I have a pink beach bicycle very similar to the one in the photo.  Sometimes I ride it to the mailbox.  So fun!

Disclosure:  The items used to make this quilt were given to me by Island Batik and industry partners.
I was so excited whilst making the Twizzle quilt that I did not take in process photos, like I usually do.  So sorry!  The center part of the quilt is paper pieced.  I did take a pic of the fabrics I used for Twizzle.  These fabrics are from the Geometrica collection by Island Batik.  I also used Hobbs Poly-Down batting and Schmetz needles to make this project.

Here's a full quilt photo I took on my studio porch so you can see the circular design and all the soft colors from the Geometrica collection.  If you want to make a Twizzle quilt, you can find the Spring 2025 issue of Quilter's World magazine in local shops now, or you can order a digital copy online, here:  Quilter's World Spring 2025 Issue  If you sew a Twizzle quilt, please share a pic with me on Instagram @curlicuecreations, or in my Facebook Group, Quilters Show and Tell.  I would love to see your quilt!

A peek inside one of the boxes of Butterfly Haven bolts.  I got right to work and made four new quilts and patterns to support the Butterfly Haven fabric.  Here are my quilts:

Butterflies playfully flit this way and that way across this sweet quilt.  This can be made with a 10" stack or yardage.  Pattern available in my Etsy Shop.

Concert on the Green

This pattern showcases several of the green fabrics in the collection.  Small pink triangles dance across this quilt, like music lovers at an outdoor festival.  It's playful with a bit of a modern twist.  Pattern available in my Etsy Shop.

Ramble On

This quilt is quick and easy to sew with a fun chevron design. It uses a variety of colors in the collection.  Pattern available in my Etsy Shop.

Wonderland

This quilt showcases the entire Butterfly Haven collection.  Colors fade one into the next to create a snowflake design.  This pattern can be made in a light or dark version (dark version shown here).  Pattern available in my Etsy Shop.

Cascade Quilt and Pattern in Quilter's World Summer 2024

Yes, I'm behind on my blogging again. There has been so much going on this summer.  School is starting here on Monday and my last child is beginning high school.  Time has been flying by.
Today I'm showing my Cascade quilt.

Disclaimer:  The fabric used for this quilt was given to me by Island Batik at no cost to me.
Cascade is in the Summer 2024 issue of Quilter's World magazine.  The pattern is on pages 76 through 81.  You can still order a digital copy of this issue online here:  Quilter's World Summer 2024  If you are lucky, you may still find a copy at your local quilt shop, but the Fall issue is out now.  I have a fun Halloween project in that issue that I'll be posting here soon.

Let me show you this gorgeous fabric I used for my quilt.  This collection is Fairy Floss by Island Batik.  It has got to be one of my all time favorite Island Batik collections ever!!!!  Look at all those gorgeous blues, greens, purples, and pinks.  It makes my eyes happy.

This quilt features two simple star blocks in different sizes and colors.  This is Star Block A.

Star Block B.

I believe Cascade was the first quilt I finished after I moved into my new home last year.  I'm still working on finding the best places to take quilt photos.  This one is on my front porch.  There is a farmer's field across from me that had nothing in it when this was taken, but is currently full of corn.

Quilting close up.  Loopy meander quilting.  I used Hobbs Tuscany Cotton Wool Blend for the batting and King Tut Angel Lavender thread.

So lovely.

"A pineapple a day keeps the worries away."

"Let the Adventure Begin"
I'm all ready for fall front porch sitting!
