The Rainbow Connection - Update

Here's an update on my Rainbow Connection hexagon quilt.  I've been adding some yellow hexies this week. What a difference that makes.  The bright and warm yellows going around the edges really changes the look and feel of the whole quilt.  I can't wait to see what happens next!

Do you use yellows in your quilts?  Leave a comment below.

Have a wonderful day,

No More Loose Threads!

Yesterday I finished working in all the loose thread ends on the Aura hexagon quilt.  Here it is!  Next I'll be adding the binding, sleeve, and label.

Here are a few more close-ups of this quilt.

Do you like the yellow accents?  They are almost like flower centers ~ almost.

Stripes of vibrant colors showcasing gorgeous scraps of fabric.
This entire quilt top was pieced from my scrap basket.  The funny thing is, my scrap basket still looks the same.

Have a super day!

One More Barn Block

One more Barn Quilt block from the McDowell County, North Carolina quilt trail.  I love the vibrancy of the colors in this geometric block and the way they look against the red wall of this building.  Sorry, I do not know what building it is.

I'm also sharing a few photos from a waterfall hike we did.  This one is looking up into the treetops.

This one is looking through the forest while we were on the trail.  I especially like the way the light is shining down through the trees in this photo.

A nice composition of rocks, wood, water, and moss.  This is part of the stream, coming from the base of the waterfall.

This is the waterfall we hiked to.  It was a short, easy hike - yay! I feel so blessed to live in North Carolina.  It's a beautiful state from the mountains to the sea.  What inspires you where you live?  Leave a comment below.

Have a lovely day,

Jennifer Schifano Thomas
