Here a Hexie, There a Hexie

This week I pulled out my Accuquilt Go and did some taming of the scrap bin.

I like to cut my scraps into hexagons.  I use the smallest size on the Accuquilt Hexagon die.

I do all the basting prep work while watching TV or front porch sitting.

Then, the hexagons are sorted by color and put into zipper bags or, a cross stitch floss box.

This is Aura, the first hexagon quilt I've completed.

I'm working on The Rainbow Connection, a completely improv quilt.
I have some more ideas in my head for other hexagon quilts.  I may begin another one before finishing The Rainbow Connection.  We'll see...

  1. You are my hero. I love hexies and have wanted to make a hand pieced hexie quilt for a long time. I even purchased the die from AQ thinking that would encourage and I'd cut my scraps with it. Nope, I ended up cutting scraps into 2.5" squares. Lovely quilts Jennifer.
