Log Cabin Progress

I've been busy sewing more Log Cabin blocks this week.  This was my progress when I last posted.

These five blocks have been completed.

At that point I was all out of strips and had to cut some more.

I cut, sorted, and bagged the remaining fabric I had on hand for this project.

Off I went to sew some more!

It looks like I am going to end up with a total of nine blocks.

Oh Kitty!

If you know me...you know I love my kitties!  I thought it would be fun to share some photos of my kitty helpers today.  This is Trail Mix, helping to hold down one of my hexie projects.

Beetle and friend, sitting on my table top sewing box.

William, inside the quilt cabinet.

Shadow and the Farmer's Market quilt.  He's a big, cuddly guy.

Kit Kat and a pile of fabric scraps.

Mama Cat and her babies, warm and cozy inside a Warm Company box.

Kitten mania on the scrap basket!

Aaaaah!  The ironing board is toasty warm.

Trail Mix found her way into the quilt cabinet, too.

The princess and the pea.

What?  I can't sit in here?  But it's a big box full of fabric!

Oh Kitty!  I hope that was fun for you, too.

Purple Passion Quilt Homecoming

The Purple Passion quilt arrived home from Modern Quilts Unlimited recently.  I'm so happy to have it back.  I always give my quilts a welcome home hug as soon as I get them out of the shipping box.  Thank you, MQU for taking such good care of my quilt.  Here's a peek into the making of the Purple Passion quilt:

Six gorgeous fabrics from Timeless Treasures.

Testing my block pattern.  This color combination would make an interesting quilt, too.

 Tracing curves for cutting.

 Six little purple rainbows.

Flip side of blocks as they are being sewn into rows.

The center of the quilt flying free on my clothesline.

Pinning the solid black border into place.

Purple squares sewn into strips for the next border.

Paper piecing triangles for the purple triangle border.

Fold and sew.

All the borders are on.

Swirly quilting.

I only quilted over the black fabrics.

Quilting...

Quilting...

Quilted.

The backing fabric.

Purple Passion!

I'll be sleeping under this quilt tonight.  So warm and cozy.  The pattern for the Purple Passion quilt is in Issue 21 of Modern Quilts Unlimited.  If you sew a Purple Passion quilt, please send me a pic.  I would love to see it!
