Hello and welcome to my little corner of the Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Volume 16 Road Rally Blog Tour. I'm so glad you've taken a few minutes out of your busy day to visit me! You are rolling your virtural "road rally" car into the beautiful countryside of Henderson, North Carolina. We're at the peak of the fall foilage this week, my favorite time of the year. I love the way the bright leaf colors pop against the gray skies.
This is my block for issue 16, "Grow a Little Love". It is block #1509. The pattern for this block appears on page 12 in the applique section of the magazine.
I designed and made a small wall hanging to showcase the Grow a Little Love block. This quilt features fabrics from the Peony Passion fabric line, by Lynnea Washburn, for Northcott Fabrics.
This block would make a wonderful friend gift as a wall hanging, pillow, or sew three in a row to create a cute table runner. The possibilities are endless!

Adorable! I'm loving your 1800 farmhouse! I used to have an old farmhouse...1910 and it was charming. The country is a great place to raise a family! But I am older now and happy to be in the city.

I love flowers and planted quite a few different ones. Of all I would say Tulips for the perennial and marigolds for the annual. I love the smell of Marigolds and the bright bursts of color. For the tulips there are so many varieties. I planted a tulip garden with at least 30 different tulip bulbs.

Sew very cute! My favorite flowers are carnations and gardenias. Both special and both fragrant. Although, when you mention peonies, I remember the scent of the gorgeous peonies lining my grandmother's garden wall, and blooming every summer when we'd visit and sleepover as groups of cousins. I miss my loving grandparents and I miss those peonies!

My favorite flower would have to be the rose. I really love your block. I think it would look great as a rock of kindness. I have been painting rocks and leaving them to brighten someone's day. I really like the heart shape of the flower and will have to make a rock with your pattern as my inspiration. Thank you for a chance to win.

ReplyDeleteI love the rose of sharons :) I know it's not a flower you put in the vase on the counter, but we have a small line of them on our metal fence line . They are such hard workers to grow, and be prolific. I wish their blossoms would last longer (and maybe because they are fairly new transplants) as their blossoms just last a week, if the Japanese beetles don't feast on them first. But they try to hang in there :) Congrats on your wonderful block and being in the vol 16!!! Wow! I can't believe it's been 16 volumes!!!
ReplyDeleteI love orchids.
