Happy Fall Part One

Happy Fall, Y'all!  Autumn is my favorite season of the year. It's finally starting to feel like it here in North Carolina.  The squirrels are going crazy gathering acorns, and the leaves are beginning to turn. I'm making a Fall table topper for my October Island Batik Ambassador project.  Above is the idea I drew up in EQ8 for my design.  I've changed it up a bit and added a few borders in my final design.

I decided to make the pumpkin out of one big rectangle of orange fabric with flip and stitch corners.  Doesn't this Island Batik fabric make it look like a lit Jack 'O Lantern?  I love the way it glows.

After piecing everything together, I used Heat 'n Bond Lite to fuse the letters in place.  I'm blanket stitching around the edges with black Aurifil thread.  I'm almost ready to quilt this, but I'm not sure how to do the quilting just yet.  It's hanging up on my design wall waiting for inspiration to strike.  Hopefully, that will happen soon!
