Lazy Day Quilting

Do you ever get the urge to sew something quick, easy, and a little bit lazy?  Here's a personal project I'm working on for one of my boys.  This quilt started out with a 5" charm pack of fabrics with a holiday look.

The charms were red, green, blue, and cream with bits of gold for a little dazzle.  I quickly cut more 5" charms in coordinating fabrics from my stash - nice and scrappy.  No pressure.  No worries about exact color matching.  Just fun and simple sewing.

Now that my top is sewn in a Nine Patch sort of way, I'm quilting it just as simply with row after row of medium sized swirls in a variegated thread.  Easy, relaxed, and lazy.  I'm liking it.  I'll try to get a photo of the whole quilt when it's complete.  What's under your needle today?

Don't forget, the 100 Blocks Blog Tour begins on Monday, May 1st.  My post will be on Tuesday, May 2nd.  Be sure to visit for inspiration & a giveaway.

Be creative ~ sew something today!

  1. I really understand the need to go for a quilt where planning and thinking can be kept to a minimum ☺ It's good to just sew sometimes!
