Triangle Tricks Island Batik Ambassador Challenge

This is my Island Batik Ambassador project for the Month of May.  I'm calling it Triangle-A-Go-Go table runner.

For this month we were challenged to make a quilt featuring, you guessed it:  Triangles!  I do love triangles, and I had a great plan for this quilt.  But....when I really sat down and started designing it, I changed my focus, and decided to make a table runner instead.

I pulled out the Graphix 10" precuts stack and hot pink stash builders rolls that I received in my January box.  I love pink in my kitchen and these two colors really pop against each other.  Oh yeah!

Next, I got out my Accuquilt Go and the Morning Star BOB die and started cutting.  I LOVE the Morning Star die and was so excited to have another opportunity to use it for Triangle Tricks.  The shapes cut out so perfectly and fit together nicely with the dog ears automatically cut off by the die.

Here's one of the finished Morning Star blocks.

The table runner couldn't have come out cuter!  Look how it matches the climbing roses on my front porch railing.  Ah, Spring.  Blooms everywhere.

I quilted the Triangle-A-Go-Go in an allover swirl design with pink Aurifil Thread. It's color number 2530, if you're curious.

I pieced my backing with more of the pink stash builders.  They're so useful!  This was super easy to do and I love the way it looks.

The inside of my table runner features Hobbs 80/20 bleached cotton batting.

I used Schmetz needles for all of the piecing and quilting.  They're the best!

Here's a peek at the front and back together.  I love all the pinks!

I used another pink in a slightly darker shade for the binding.  This was also cut from the stash builders.  The stash builders are 5" x width of fabric, so you can get two binding strips out of each one with no fabric waste.  I love that.

Pretty folds.

Stars and Stripes Forever Finish

Stars and Stripes Forever is finished.

Disclaimer:  The products used to make this project were given to me by Island Batik and industry partners.
This is the Island Batik Ambassador row quilt I made for the February challenge.

I pieced the top in time for the February blog hop, but didn't get to finish until now.

You can revisit the original post about this quilt here:  Row by Row Blog Hop

This quilt showcases the Americana fabric collection.  These gorgeous patriotic red white and blue batiks should still be available in local quilt shops at this time.

I quilted Stars and Stripes forever with a loopy meander in red thread.

I used Hobbs Cotton Batting and Schmetz needles.

Solid white Island Batik fabric for the backing and binding in various blues from the Americana fabric collection.
