Flea Market Quilt ~ Scrappy Part One

Flea Market is my first Island Batik Ambassador project for 2020.  We are making scrap quilts for January.  I began mine in December, using the Island Batik fabrics I had in my stash left over from previous projects, making it a true scrap quilt.

Disclaimer:  The fabrics used in this post were given to me by Island Batik at no cost to me.
I cut triangles from this beautiful gray blender fabric.

I'm using this older Accuquilt triangles in square 3" finished die to cut the majority of the pieces for the Flea Market quilt.  It makes cutting and sewing the triangle pieces super easy.

I love the playfulness of this orange swirly dot Island Batik fabric.

A stack of yellow triangles.  See how the die cuts the corners off to fit the triangles together perfectly when you stitch them together?

Here's a close up of three of the gold and yellow toned fabrics I used in my quilt.

This photo shows six of the triangle units sewn together.  I'm liking it so far.  It's exciting to see a new project coming together.  I'm making eighty of the triangle units, forty with dark gray triangles, and forty with light gray triangles.  I can't wait to show you how the blocks look when finished.

Be creative ~ Sew something beautiful today.

  1. Both of my projects are completely scrappy too. One is quilted but the other wont be until I get approval from my Dr. I'm really curious how these blocks will fit into a quilt.

  2. Love your beginning so far! The yellows are particularly beautiful--and yellow isn't usually my favorite!
