"Dear Jane", I "Love" you, even when it's "Frosty" outside

This week, I finally got back to my Dear Jane quilt.  It's been years since I pulled it out...really...it's embarrassing!  The first thing I did was to re-press and trim up all my blocks.  Then I sewed two new blocks, D-4, Crystal Star, and D-13, Field of Dreams.  My color scheme is all purples and creams.  I've sewn a total of 56 of the blocks - no triangles yet.  I used to have a piece count, but I don't have the patience to recount all the pieces sewn so far!  What a super lifetime project for me.  I can't believe some people have made more than one of these!  Here are my blocks from the A row:
 A-1, Pinwheel Gone Awry

 A-2, One-Two Buckle My Shoe

A-3, Hunter's Moon

A-4, Courtney's Stethoscope

A-5, Cathie's Campfire

A-6, Uncle Homer

A-7, Dad's Plaids

A-8, Florence Nightingale

A-9, Cabin Fever

A-10, Which Point West?

A-11, Pebble's Protest

A-12, Framed Fancy

A-13, Starlight-Starbright

Thank goodness for the Dear Jane motto, "Finished is better than perfect".  I'll share some more of my DJ blocks in next week's blog, too.

Love Applique Quilt Block Pattern

Here's my latest and greatest quilt block pattern, Love.  It's the final block in a series of five, Love, Peace, Hope, Faith, and Joy.  The block's finished size is 12" x 12".  Please visit the shop at curlicuecreations.com to purchase the Love pattern, and to see the other four blocks in this series.  It's superexcellent!

 Frosty Quilted Trivet

I also spent some time working on my next quilted trivet, Frosty.  Isn't he cute?  Winter is coming, and Frosty will be sure to warm up your kitchen table.  I'm planning on adding some midnight blue setting triangles to the corners to finish him up.  He currently measures 6" square.

Motley Crew

Again, don't forget to pick up your copy of the Quilts and More, Fall 2011 issue to get my Motley Crew pattern - so cute!  There are so many other exquisite patterns in this issue to make, too.  More quilts, plus pillows, bags, and a casserole carrier, too.

Have a super day!

  4. Jennifer, your DJ colors are really unique. It will be fun to see how you progress. A friend was inspired by Bonnie Hunter's brown and pink version and has started one of her own (www.kerrysquilting.blogspot.com). She took a workshop with Ms. Dear Jane at Asilomar and plans to take another in 2012. Sandi
