Front Porch Sittin' ~ Part One

Front Porch Sittin' is my next project for Island Batik Ambassadors.  October is my favorite time of the year for watching the sunset from my porch.  The October skies can't be beat.  I decided to do my project based on this theme.

My porch is surrounded with flowers.  I have azaleas, climbing roses, flower pots, and a brand new flower bed between the azaleas and a brick path with Coneflowers, Petunias, and a mysterious purple perennial that I don't remember the name of.  It's essential that this project features some evening blooms.  I cut the flower and flower center shapes out of Heat 'n Bond Lite for fusible applique.

Did you see the Out and About bag I made last month for the ByAnnie.com challenge?  It used four of the fabrics from the new Urbanization collection.  I love these fabrics so much.  I'm using most of them for this month's quilt.  Aren't they lovely?

Here's another angle.

Disclaimer:  These fabrics were given to me by Island Batik.
Here are my flower pieces, fused and cut out.  The yellow centers were cut from another Island Batik fabric in my stash. All the flower petals were cut with fabrics from Urbanization.
