Star Light Star Bright featuring the Star Crossed Quilt

Disclaimer:  The products in this post were given to me at no cost by Island Batik and their industry partners.
Talk about last minute!  It's the end of the month, and I've just finished up my Island Batik Ambassador challenge for August, Star Crossed.

The challenge was to create a star themed lap size quilt.

Here's a close up of the gorgeous Island Batik fabrics I used in my quilt.  Notice, I combined batiks with solid white, gray, and black.  I love the way they play together.

I used my Accuquilt Go to cut out all of the pieces for the Star Crossed quilt.

This quilt will be perfect for snuggling under on the upcoming crisp Autumn evenings.  I like to sit on my front porch and watch the sunset.  My favorite time of the year in North Carolina for sunsets is October.  And yes, I do have a church pew on my porch.

I quilted Star Crossed with Hobbs Silk Batting and white Aurifil thread.  I quilted concentric circles out from the center of the quilt.

I used the solid black fabric to bind my quilt.  It matches the outer border and gives a nice clean finish.

I wonder how the Star Crossed quilt would be as a sail?  Would it help to navigate at night, sailing under the stars?  I don't think so, but it would make a good story.

  2. A great looking star quilt! The cross in purple and the rectangles in blue and pink give the extra touch to the quilt.
