Hello! Welcome to the first day of the Songbird blog hop! Thanks for stopping by. Songbird is my new signature fabric collection with Island Batik, Lumin Fabrics, designed by Jerry Khiev.
Disclaimer: The fabric used to make these quilts was given to me by Island Batik Lumin Fabrics.
The Songbird collection is a beautiful array of pink, purple, and blue fabric. Designs include birds, flowers, and foliage. It is simply gorgeous and has something for everyone. The combinations are endless. I love it. I hope you do, too. The Songbird fabric collection and accompanying patterns should be arriving in local quilt shops now.
I made four new quilts and patterns to accompany the Songbird fabric line. Here are my quilts:
Cultivated
The Cultivated quilt is the largest quilt in the group. It finishes at 86" x 98" and includes many different design elements, combining fusible applique blocks with pieced blocks, and also has an attractive pieced border. You will not get bored making the same thing over and over with this project. Patterns are available in the Curlicue Creations Etsy Shop as a PDF instant download or a paper copy via US Mail.
Daisy Daydream
Daisy Daydream is a small project finishing at 42" x 51", perfect for a throw quilt or to jazz up an empty wall space. This medallion style quilt also features a number of different designs to keep it interesting and fun to sew. The center daisy block is made with easy fusible applique. HST's and strip piecing are also part of this project. Patterns are available in the Curlicue Creations Etsy Shop as a PDF instant download or a paper copy via US Mail.
Garland
If you are looking for a quick to piece project that uses the entire Songbird collection (10" precut stack friendly!) Garland is the quilt for you. Finishing at 56" x 73", Garland would be a nice gift for a child or comfy throw quilt to snuggle under on chilly nights. Patterns are available in the Curlicue Creations Etsy Shop as a PDF instant download or a paper copy via US Mail.
The Wishing Star
This quilt was so much fun to design and stitch! The Wishing Star features large and small sawtooth stars, arranged in a pleasing manner. This square quilt finishes at 65" x 65". Patterns are available in the Curlicue Creations Etsy Shop as a PDF instant download or a paper copy via US Mail.
In conjunction with the Songbird blog hop, I am giving away a complete 20 piece fat quarter bundle of Songbird, along with a print copy of one of my new patterns (winner's choice). To enter, please sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of this post, or follow me on Facebook or Instagram. You will receive one entry for each. Please comment how you follow me in your entry and let me know which pattern you would like to receive if you are selected as the lucky one. Open to USA residents only, due to shipping costs. Please be sure you leave me a way to contact you as well.
