What's in Your Bag Challenge with ByAnnie and Island Batik

For the October Island Batik Ambassador and ByAnnie challenge, I made these two Payday bags.

Disclaimer:  The items used to make this project were given to me by Island Batik and industry partners.
This month the Island Batik Ambassadors made byAnnie bags.  This is the fifth year we have had byAnnie as an industry partner for the Island Batik Ambassador program.  I have thoroughly enjoyed making and using my ByAnnie bags.  I use and love my bags every day!

ByAnnie supplied us with a kit to make the bag or project of our choice.  The kit includes the pattern, soft and stable, hardware, zippers, interfacing, and anything else needed to sew the project.  A few things I love about ByAnnie patterns, are the step-by-step instructions with checkboxes for every action from cutting to finishing, a sheet of tags that you can copy and use to label each piece of your project (I print mine out on sticker paper), and the add-on videos, so if I get stuck or need extra help on any part of my project, I can watch the video.  This time around I chose to make the Payday bag in two sizes.  It's a small, lightweight bag with multiple pockets, some zippered, and an adjustable strap that I can easilly toss my essentials into when I need to go out.

Island Batik supplied the fabric for my bags.  I chose to use fabric from the new Peach Blossom collection by Claudia Pfeil.  Aren't these soft pearly colors just gorgeous?  I'm in love.

Inside pocket for carrying credit cards, driver's license, etc.  The larger size bag has a double wide pocket like this.

Zippered pockets.  Great for my car keys or a small bit of spending money.

Back pocket.  I used this today to carry a note to my son's school.  Look at that fabric!  Mmmm...I'm crushing on it. Love, love, love!

Here's a look at the larger bag, showing the zippered pockets and the pink lining fabric.

This is the first time I've made a byAnnie bag without quilting.  I felt like it needed a little something when I finished, so I added this yellow star (cut from an Accuquilt die) to the small bag and a pink star to the larger Payday bag.  I rather like it!

Payday bags, large and small.
