Have you seen my new Triangle Twist quilt? It's on the cover of the Spring 2023 issue of Quilter's World Magazine. I'm a cover girl! Woo-hoo!
The pattern starts on page 39, if you have the magazine. If not, you can order one here: Quilter's World Spring 2023
As you can see, the blocks are all constructed with triangles in different sizes. No worries, it's not as tricky as it looks. It's actually really fun to sew!
The beautiful blues I used for this quilt came from the new Chickadee collection, plus blenders and a solid, all by Island Batik.
Disclaimer: The fabric used to make this quilt was given to me by Island Batik.
This quilt was inspired by walks along the seashore, watching the waves come in, cresting with white foam. Do you see it?
Triangle Twist is waiting for Spring to bloom here in North Carolina. This is my favorite spot for front-porch stitching.
I backed Triangle Twist with this beautiful blue blender fabric, also by Island Batik. The binding fabric matches the outer border fabric on the front of the quilt. I do matching binding whenever possible. I don't like my binding to compete for attention with the design of the quilt.
As you can see, I quilted a loopy meander in an allover design.

A new year and a new pattern. 2023 is going to be a great year, I just know it. This is the Starry Dawn quilt.
Starry Dawn is a log cabin variation that incorporates a star block in the middle, where the chimney fire would be in a traditional log cabin block.
The Starry Dawn pattern is available in my Etsy Shop and in select quilt shops across the USA.
It is one of the quilts I made for the Island Batik catalog.
My son Levi, assisted with the photo session for this quilt.
I used Island Batik's new Baby Bloomers fabric collection to make the Starry Dawn quilt. Island Batik provided the fabric for this project. Thank you, Island Batik.
I used Hobbs wool batting and quilted an allover loopy meander.
Pretty folds.
I backed this quilt with this colorful Jellybean fabric, also by Island Batik. Isn't it cheerful? It makes me feel good, just looking at these colors.
I made my binding from the same purple fabric as the outer border. I do that with most of my quilts. I like the binding to match, not compete for attention.
